AIS EPIRB series receives MED and ANATEL approvals

Jotron’s AIS EPIRB series has now been granted EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED) and Marine Equipment UK Assessment approval. These products were US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved earlier this year. In addition, the Tron 60AIS is certified by the Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações, Brazil (ANATEL) and by the China Classification Society (CCS).

16 August 2022 – The IMO (International Maritime Organization) and SOLAS (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) requirements MSC.471(101) became effective 1st July 2022. These new requirements enable quicker and more efficient response and aim to locate a distressed vessel faster, increasing the potential for saving lives. Released prior to the IMO deadline and incorporating additional enhanced safety features, Jotron offers the most innovative EPIRBs on the market.

“Jotron’s AIS EPIRBs set new standards in the industry, and we are proud to be the world’s first company to obtain international product approvals,” says Vegar Pettersen, Sales and Marketing Director Maritime.
