Collins Aerospace and Jotron have signed a teaming agreement to develop, produce and provide a new air to ground radio solution for the FAA Next Generation Air to Ground Communications (NEXCOM) program. The teaming agreement leverages the combined capabilities and aviation expertise of both companies to develop and deliver next generation safety critical radios for communications between aircraft crew and Air Traffic Controller (ATC).
Madrid, 22 June 2022 – “This teaming agreement extends our nearly two-decade long partnership with Jotron to provide Collins Aerospace safety-critical aviation communications solutions. Our deep heritage in air to ground communications systems for the global aviation community will help accelerate readiness to meet tomorrow’s Voice over IP (VOIP) air to ground communications requirements,” said Gene Hayman, Director of Government Services, Collins Aerospace. “Together with Jotron, we endeavor to improve US air traffic control systems to improve the safety and efficiency of our nation’s National Airspace System.”
Under the agreement, Collins and Jotron will continue to collaborate on next generation air to ground communication systems.
