Remote training

This type of learning offers individuals the flexibility of both in-person and remote training within a virtual classroom environment. It is especially advantageous for those restricted by physical distance and those who wish to access training conveniently from their own location.

What is remote training?

Participants connect remotely to learn from a Jotron instructor via a remote interface, accessing software tools that allow them to engage directly. Students can adjust settings on radios and test systems using the radio virtual front module, providing a hands-on experience as close as possible to working with physical equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of Jotron products.

How does it work?

These training sessions are conducted live. Each student connects remotely via Microsoft Teams, where all training content is presented. Additionally, students use VMware Horizon as a virtual desktop system to remotely control Jotron equipment. This setup provides the most realistic training experience possible. A Jotron instructor leads each session, enabling two-way communication between the instructor and students throughout the training. Once registered, each student receives a meeting invitation that includes a link to the virtual desktop system. Each participant will be provided with a unique username and password before training begins.

Remote training is most effective when conducted in very small groups, with each session accommodating up to six participants. For larger groups, it is recommended that two participants share a workstation. This option allows more students to participate without increasing the number of remote connections. Alternatively, training can be offered in the form of a webinar. In a webinar, an instructor delivers training materials through a presentation via live video stream on Microsoft Teams. Students can engage with the instructor and participate by submitting comments and questions using the chat function.

All current classroom training on Jotron products can also be delivered remotely. Jotron’s classroom training is frequently customized to provide the best possible experience tailored to the specific needs and solutions of each customer.

Microsoft Teams and VMware Horizon client (supplied on login)
Headset and microphone

Tips?

To get the best remote training experience, it is beneficial for all students to have a dual-screen workstation setup. This allows one screen to be used for Microsoft Teams to watch the presentation, and the other for VMware Horizon Remote Desktop to view the remote system.
